Frequently asked questions
What is a UPI payment QR code?
A UPI QR code encodes your Virtual Payment Address (VPA / UPI ID) in a scannable format. Anyone can scan it with PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM, or any UPI app to send you money instantly without typing your bank details.
Does a generated UPI QR code expire?
No. Static UPI QR codes generated here never expire. As long as your bank account and linked UPI ID remain active with your bank, your printed QR codes and digital graphics will continue to work indefinitely.
Can I add my business or shop logo to the center of the QR code?
Yes! You can upload your custom store logo (PNG, JPG, SVG, WebP) or pick verified brand badges (BHIM, PhonePe, GPay, Paytm). Our generator automatically applies high error correction (Level H) so the QR code scans reliably across all lighting conditions with your logo in the center.
Can I generate a QR code for my bank account without a UPI ID?
Yes! Use our dedicated Bank QR Generator to encode your Bank Account Number and IFSC code directly using NPCI's official account routing.
Can I print this QR code as a counter standee?
Yes! The generated QR code is styled after official merchant standees ('UPI Accepted Here - Scan & Pay') with BHIM and UPI logos. You can click Download Standee or Print Standee for a clean counter display card ready for your counter or acrylic holder.
Can I set a fixed amount in the QR code?
Yes. Enter an amount in the Amount (INR) field. When scanned, the customer's payment app will automatically pre-fill the exact amount, which speeds up checkout and prevents typing errors. For a reusable standee accepting arbitrary amounts, simply leave the amount field empty.
What is the difference between a static QR code and a dynamic QR code?
A static QR code encodes a fixed UPI ID (and optional fixed amount) that can be reused perpetually without server connectivity. A dynamic QR code is generated programmatically per invoice by payment gateway backends with a locked transaction reference ID and short expiration window.
Is the generated QR code universal across all payment apps?
Yes. The QR code uses the standard
upi://pay format defined by NPCI, which is supported by all major UPI payment apps in India including PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM, Cred, Amazon Pay, and official banking apps. What image formats can I download?
You can download as a high-resolution PNG merchant standee, a clean square QR image, or a scalable vector SVG file. SVG is recommended for commercial signboards, flex banners, and large acrylic stands because it scales infinitely with zero pixelation.
Can international tourists or NRI users scan this UPI QR code?
Yes. Inbound international travelers utilizing NPCI's 'UPI One World' wallet and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) with international mobile numbers linked to NRE/NRO bank accounts can scan and pay standard merchant UPI QR codes.
Does generating a QR code verify my UPI ID?
No. This tool encodes your entered information into the NPCI standard UPI format locally in your browser. It does not contact banking servers. We recommend making a test payment of ₹1 using your own payment app before printing and displaying the QR code publicly.
Is my UPI ID or personal data sent to any server?
No. All QR generation happens locally in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Nothing is sent to any server. You can verify this by checking DevTools → Network tab.
